Alan Lee is well known for his painting in the book Faeries (along with Brian Froud) as well as his illustrated editions of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. He was the principal designer of the look and feel of Peter Jackson's film version of The Lord of the Rings. If you look closely, you’ll see Alan as one of the nine kings of men given a ring by Sauron at the beginning of the film version of The Fellowship of the Ring. However, to the best of our knowledge, he is not a Ring Wraith.
