Michaela Foster Marsh sings of love and loss, healing and redemption, salvation and sex. The Scottish singer/songwriter living in Ottawa, Canada who may have created a new genre of music -- torch folk. The lyrics on her debut album Fairytales and the Death of Innocence are steeped in mythology and rich with raw emotion. They reach through the entire spectrum of human experience from the sacred to the profane. While she's been compared to everyone from Tori Amos to Loreena McKennitt, Michaela seems to have created a genre all her own. Torch folk? Whatever you call it, don't miss her.
