Dear friend of Mythic Journeys:
Greetings from the
Mythic Journeys staff, and our thanks for volunteering to help make Mythic Journeys
a reality. A convention like this cannot happen without the aid of talented
volunteers, and we appreciate your willingness to be part of the Mythic Journeys
experience.
Those who volunteer for Mythic Journeys are eligible for a wide range of benefits,
including access to special events and giveaways. Not least among these benefits
is the admission reimbursement volunteers receive. All volunteers who work at
least 12 hours during the conference (usually in the form of three four-hour
shifts) receive a $175 reimbursement following the conference, up to the price
of their membership. This means students who preregister for Mythic Journeys
end up paying nothing, while other attendees get anywhere from 63 to 77 percent
of their admission fee back!
Mythic Journeys will be a truly transformative experience, and we look forward
to you being a part of it. We have a wide variety of tasks for our volunteers,
with more being added all the time. We shall post these when they are all confirmed,
and will do our best to get the right volunteers for the right positions. After
the content organizers post a preliminary schedule, we shall also post a volunteer
schedule so you can indicate the times you would prefer to work. We will do
what we can to accommodate these requests. This schedule may look something
