The Newsletter of the Mythic Imagination Institute, a Non-profit Arts and Education Corporation
In preparation for Mythic Journeys 2004 in Atlanta, GA
May/June, 2003
Conference Registration

Online conference registration capabilities are slated for release in June, along with a relaunch of the Mythic Journeys Web site. At that time, we'll be announcing the prices for both the main festival and the pre-conference. You'll also be able to make airline or hotel reservations at special, discounted rates.  Remember to register early for the best rates.

In addition to the discount, you'll also be helping to support Mythic Journeys and our other programs when you use our codes to register for flights and hotel rooms. We're depending upon filling a block of rooms at the hotel and getting some discounts on airfare in order to keep costs for the conference low.

Besides, we'll be having programming, conversations, social gatherings, and performances late into the night, so even if you're local to Atlanta, you'll probably want to stay at the hotel to be sure you don't miss anything!

We'll send out another announcement when the registration features are available. If you'd like to be notified, please be sure you've registered on the Web site.

Volunteers

As a non-profit organization we're always looking for volunteers. We will need conference registration, stagehands, exhibit and marketplace area volunteers, artists, and, well, pretty much everything.

If you'd like to join us, please send an e-mail to volunteer@mythicjourneys.org. Tell us a little about yourself, what you'd like to do. We'd love to have you. If you've already volunteered, we'll be in touch soon.

Mythic Tours

As part of our overall community-building mission, the Mythic Imagination Institute is exploring sponsoring travel tours to places around the world with special mythical, spiritual, cultural or historical significance.

The tours will be custom-crafted, and will feature expert speakers to enliven and deepen the experience. More than simple vacations, these trips will provide a chance for learning, self-exploration and to travel with interesting, like-minded people: the kinds of people you'll meet and get to know at Mythic Journeys.

Currenty, we're creating an itinerary to King Arthur's England. We will go on a fact-finding excursion this fall to visit sites, find hotels and restaurants, and to meet local experts.

This isn't an actual "mythic tour," it's an exploratory trip but we'd like to invite a small number of folks along to share the experience.

The tentative itinerary is 14 days and will include London, Cornwall, Glastonbury and Stonehenge. The estimated cost will be around $2500, including airfare.

If you're interested in hearing more, or would like to be kept informed of future Mythic Tours, please send an e-mail to Carol Bales, Mythic Imagination Director of Operations, at carol@mythicjourneys.org or call (404) 832-4127.
