Many of us on the Mythic Journeys staff can remember our first exposure to the works of Joseph Campbell, either in the Power of Myth series on PBS, or in books like The Masks of God or The Hero with a Thousand Faces. We all felt something awaken deep inside us, a connection to something deep, timeless, and profound.

If you’re visiting this site, chances are you’re a kindred spirit - chances are you’ve had an experience like that. You can still remember the feeling of excitement - of having your intellect challenged and your imagination stirred and shaken. You can remember a glowing spark that turned to fire. If you’re like us, you probably wanted to do something, to find a way to make these new ideas a part of your life.

At Mythic Journeys, you’ll be overwhelmed with experiences like that - performances, talks, and conversation. These "calls” demand a response. That’s why we’re planning special response tracks to help you integrate these amazing experiences into your everyday life. As Joseph Campbell said, "We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.

The response tracks, designed for specific interests, are being planned now, so please check back often over the coming months. At present, some of the tracks include myths in business and work, myths in writing, myths in education, myths in psychology, myths in growth and personal development, myths in performance, myths in art, myths in religion, and more.

The response tracks will highlight experience and participation, with a special emphasis on workshops. For that reason, participation will be limited, especially during the Mythic Journeys In-Depth pre-conference. People who register early will have the first opportunity to sign up for specific sessions.
